Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about rotary joint selection, maintenance, materials, and custom solutions — answered by our engineers.
Selection & Sizing
How do I select the right rotary joint for my application?
The selection depends on five key parameters: (1) the media (steam, water, thermal oil, hydraulic fluid), (2) operating pressure, (3) temperature range, (4) rotational speed (RPM), and (5) pipe connection size. Our engineering team can analyze your specific conditions and recommend the optimal model. Contact us with your operating parameters and we typically respond within 24 hours with a detailed recommendation.
What makes Ruitus patented products different?
Our RTH series (water/coolant) features a unique self-balancing seal design that reduces friction by 40% compared to conventional joints, extending service life significantly. The RTQ series (high-temperature) uses a patented carbon graphite seal composition that maintains integrity at 350°C — a temperature range where most competitors require expensive exotic alloys. Both patents are registered with the China National Intellectual Property Administration.
Are your products interchangeable with other brands?
Yes. Our RT-DE series is designed as a direct interchangeable replacement for Deublin 55/56/57 series. Our RT-JG series replaces DSTI and Deublin stainless steel models. We maintain the same flange dimensions, shaft diameters, and seal interfaces, making replacement a drop-in installation with no machine modifications required. Provide your current model number and we will confirm compatibility.
Materials & Media
Which media types are compatible with Ruitus rotary joints?
Ruitus rotary joints handle a wide range of media including saturated and superheated steam (up to 250°C), hot and cold water, thermal oil (up to 350°C), hydraulic oil (up to 100 MPa), coolant, compressed air, and non-corrosive gases. For corrosive or special media (e.g., chemicals, food-grade fluids), we offer stainless steel and custom-sealed models. Always provide your media specifications when requesting a quote.
What seal types do you use?
Ruitus offers two primary sealing technologies: Mechanical seals — durable carbon graphite or silicon carbide pairs for high-speed and high-temperature applications; and Elastomeric seals — O-rings and lip seals for lower-speed, general-purpose service. Our patented RTQ carbon graphite seal handles temperatures up to 350°C and speeds up to 1000 RPM. For hydraulic applications, we use precision-lapped metal seals rated to 100 MPa.
Maintenance & Lifespan
What is the typical lifespan of a Ruitus rotary joint?
Under normal operating conditions with proper installation and maintenance, Ruitus rotary joints typically last 3–5 years before requiring seal replacement. Our patented carbon graphite seals (RTH/RTQ series) can extend service life to 5–8 years. Factors affecting lifespan include media quality, pressure stability, temperature fluctuations, and rotation speed. Regular maintenance per our guidelines maximizes service life.
What maintenance is required for rotary joints?
Recommended maintenance includes: (1) Monthly inspection of external leakage, (2) Quarterly check of connection tightness, (3) Semi-annual seal wear measurement, (4) Annual comprehensive inspection including internal components. Keep the media clean and use filters where applicable. Avoid sudden pressure or temperature spikes. We provide detailed maintenance manuals with every order and offer remote technical support via WhatsApp.
Do you provide installation guidance?
Yes. Every order includes a detailed installation manual with dimensioned drawings, torque specifications, and step-by-step instructions. For complex installations, we offer free video consultation via WhatsApp or Zoom. For large projects, on-site technical support is available (travel costs apply). We also provide a pre-installation checklist to ensure your machine interface is ready.
Orders & Delivery
What is your standard lead time?
Standard models (RTH, RTQ, RT-DE, CNC series): 15–20 working days after order confirmation. Custom models and large-volume orders (500+ units): 25–35 working days. We maintain buffer inventory of popular models for emergency orders — contact us for availability. All shipments are from our Shandong factory via major international logistics partners.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
For standard models, our MOQ is just 1 unit — we support trial orders so you can test quality before committing to volume. For custom models, the MOQ is typically 10–50 units depending on specifications. We offer volume discounts starting at 20+ units. Contact us for a tiered pricing schedule.
What warranty do you offer?
All Ruitus rotary joints come with a 12-month warranty from the date of shipment, covering manufacturing defects and material failures under normal operating conditions. Warranty does not cover damage from improper installation, operation beyond rated parameters, or unauthorized modifications. We provide free technical support for the life of the product.
What certifications do your products have?
Ruitus holds ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification. Our products comply with international standards including CE marking (European conformity) and can be supplied with test reports per DIN, ANSI, or JIS standards upon request. We also hold 2 national patents for our RTH and RTQ series seal technologies.
Which countries do you export to?
Ruitus exports to 70+ countries across all continents. Our major markets include Vietnam, India, Turkey, USA, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Indonesia, Brazil, Russia, and the UAE. We have deep experience with export documentation, international logistics, and compliance requirements for each market. Our multilingual team can communicate in English, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Arabic.
Custom Solutions
Can you manufacture custom rotary joints to my specifications?
Absolutely. Custom engineering is one of our core strengths. Our process: (1) You provide specifications (media, pressure, temperature, speed, dimensions), (2) Our engineering team designs and simulates, (3) We send 3D drawings for approval, (4) Prototype production (3–4 weeks), (5) Testing and certification, (6) Mass production. We have completed 200+ custom projects across steel, chemical, textile, and food industries.
